The house is located just outside the village of Gardelades 200 m from the village square. Gardelades is one of the most beautiful parts of the island of Corfu. South of the village you will find the Ropa Valley. To the north lies the beautiful mountain ridge on which the Troumbeta Pass is the gateway to the northern, flat part of the island. Corfu town is accessible in only 15 minutes by car, but there is also a regular direct bus service. Neighboring villages are Liapades to the west and Doukades to the east. In these two villages are many restaurants, which honor the Greek cuisine throughout the year.
Gardelades is a quiet, small and genuine Greek village . The three essential elements of a village are present: a village square, a kafenion and a church (even three). It lies on the road from Corfu town to Paleokastritsa at a distance of approximately 17 km from Corfu town. The beaches of Liapades (on the west coast) are a short distance: about 3 km therefore easily accessible by bike.
The village is surrounded by olive groves. It is on a hill. In the valley on the north side is the road between Corfu town and Paleokastritsa, on the south side is the Ropa Valley-Paleokastritsa road. The village remains very quiet with little traffic. Each year there are two festivals: the panagyri’s. The inhabitants are mostly engaged in tourism and agriculture on their lands in the valley.
